The Earth School staff respects each student's learning style and individual academic, spiritual, emotional and physical needs. Consequently, the curriculum is individualized, multi-aged, and respectfully guided to match each student's need. We know we are successful when we see a confident student, ready to explore, creatively problem solve and express concern for others.
The Earth School is operated by the Franciscan Sisters of The Eucharist. Our integrated curriculum spans the formative years and is based on the academic and experiential learning process developed by Dr. Maria Montessori and on the spiritual foundation of the Franciscan call.
Children learn to care for and respect themselves, others, and the earth with increasing independence. Students are guided to learn about their world, first in their own classroom gardens and eventually through travel abroad

One of my coworker's children attended this school and loved it. While located on the east side of town, due to its unique structure it draws families from all over the Metro area. To my knowledge, this Montessori program is the only remaining academy that provides schooling from early childhood to young adult. The earth experiences particularly intrigued me with gardening on site plus camping and hiking field trips. A completely well funded small private school it offers many programs that other schools in the area have dropped, band, dance, fine arts, PE, foreign language and community service.
