I was sent to this salon by another company. The other company paid for the service. I was told my appt time was at 10am. I arrived to find out it was not until 11. I got an apology. I was unaware I'd be seeing a student until I arrived. I was told this person is very qualified w/14 month edcuation behind her & staff to assist. I had pictures of what I wanted for a cut & color. I was told it was no problem. This was the longest service ever. After 6 hours, I had to leave. I let go the time, getting sprayed with water several times, not getting a towel after getting my hair washed..since it was a free to me service by a student. However, the color was a mess by the time it dried & I could see how it turned out. The cut looks like she put my hair in a ponytail & chopped it. The color is everything i said I didn't want & was told I wouldn't get, white, brass & other various colors. I talked to the owner & adv my hair looked better before I came in. She will allow me to come bk & see another student to try & get it fixed (I guess I would take my chance here)but they want me to wait over a month for an appt. Is this a realistic time to fix a very poor hair job? The owner didn't reply but hey its free. I could have messed my own hair up for free & saved an entire day. Very POOR BUSINESS & she knows she is taking advantage of people. If your considering going here just get a box of color from the store & have a neighbor kid cut & color your hair. You'll hv a better chance of having it look good than if you were to come here. I've had a few people do my hair in my 40+ years, this was by far the worst ever!! A surprise a business owner would want someone to have hair come out like this & stay that way for all to see. Trust me if you could see my hair you would never go to Salon Nyla The Day Spa!! If you do go just know that you get what you get, not what you ask for!! only gv a rating because it's required to publish. they deserve the worst rating possible.

The staff was very nice and professional. The person who cut my hair did a sufficeint job. However, having curly hair and asking for it to be styled curly I was dissappointed to leave with over conditioned, flat curls. I don't even think the my front layers were cut evenly.

I was very disappointed with my first trip to a spa. I was talked into choosing this spa, and not only was my massage shorter than advertised, the person that did my nails was horrible. She re-did 2 of my nails, and they both were bubbly and unfinished. I paid over $100, then the forced gratuity, and came away from my first spa experience very disappointed. I would not go back to this spa

I booked 2 massages last minute for me and my boyfriend. I really wanted to do a couples massage but every other spa was booked. I settled on doing our massages separately but really wished I hadn't. The inside is decent enough, I expected something a little bit nicer for the price. I did not like the location at all, the Embassy parking garage is small and poorly designed making it dangerous to drive or walk through. The area that Embassy hotel is in isn't as desirable as it once was and I saw several bums on our way in. (I guess what can you expect from Portland) We arrived 15 minutes early and sat until they were ready. They offered us wine (and didn't charge, I'm not sure if that was supposed to happen.) The massage was great and took the entire 60 minutes. It's nice they are open late otherwise we wouldn't have made it after work. Overall ok, but I think the next time I want a massage I will try somewhere else.
